(NTNU) has a vacancy for a 100 % position as a postdoctoral fellow or researcher within the area of Big Data Analytics at the Department of Computer and  Information Science (IDI) (http://www.ntnu.edu/idi).

In collaboration with Telenor Research, IDI is involved in big data research related to personalization. The position will be used to strengthen the joint work between IDI and Telenor. The successful candidate will thus act as a liaison in a multidisciplinary team of leading scientists. The selected post-doctoral fellow will also assist in PhD student supervision and a significant contribution in project applications for external funds is expected. The position represents an excellent opportunity for an individual to develop his/her career and contribute to the further development of the collaboration.

The research will be organised in the following areas related to Big Data:

  • Data and Information Management
  • Statistical Data Analysis and Prediction
  • Machine Learning
  • Personalisation
     
Requirements: 
Qualifications: A PhD in ICT or equivalent, with specialisation related to the above-mentioned areas. Besides personal qualities and the ability to work in team, we will prioritise candidates based on the following criteria: - Ability/desire to publish in top conferences - Solid experience with programming, including scalable implementations of data-intensive systems - Excellent communication skills - written and oral - Ability to work independently In particular, we expect a strong publication record, with publications in top level conferences and journals. Since Trondheim is a bilingual city where almost everybody speaks and understands English fluently, candidates need not be afraid of a language barrier. The working language of the research group is English.
